Awareness and multiple intelligences 58 8 Ways to pay
Awareness and multiple intelligences 58 8 Ways to pay How smart are you? Let me count the ways.Harvard professor Howard Gardner was the first to describe the concept of multiple intelligences. According to this theory, widely accepted, we are all bo with a certain amount of intelligence in each of the eight areas, and we have the potential to maintain or expand each of these in our entire lives. In 1983, Gardner first described in September intelligences: linguistic, logical / mathematical, spatial, musical, bodily / kinesthetic, interpersonal and intrapersonal. He added an eighth: naturalist. Nothing too crazy over it. We all have writers (using words), engineers (with numbers), artists (manipulating spaces), musicians (inspired by the sound), athletes (with the physical assistance), counselors (understanding others), and biologists ( passion for nature). But here is what I found most interesting: intrapersonal. According to Gardner, someone with great intrapersonal intelligence enjoys spending time alone, as it is in their space, is particularly adept at understanding themselves, and is inspired by contemplation. Now, remember that everyone has at least some 'of each of the eight types of intelligence, with one or two areas is the most dominant. Even if we can increase our capacity in all sectors, we are naturally attracted to certain activities. A person with dominant or developed intrapersonal intelligence is likely to be naturally in silent contemplation and meditation naturally drawn. .... So, for all the others? If meditation is easy to only a small percentage of the population, because it is possible that all approaches to the ever demanding the meeting and to focus on the inside? If we use multiple intelligences theory as a way to recognize the different leaing styles and natural tendencies, we see that there must be a number of ways to develop your attention, not only based on meditation. Teachers from around the world are using the multiple intelligences theory in the classroom to prepare lessons that appeal to the leaing styles of all types of students. The ultimate goal of leaing specific material is the same regardless, but this enlightened approach to education is inclusive and exhilarating. If meditation is one of the eight intelligences (intrapersonal) we lack on seven other areas where we can lea - and teach - be careful! Be tied to a single approach is very limiting and, frankly, archaic. If it is difficult to get motivated to meditate, consider this: maybe the particular combination of multiple intelligences need a different approach to consciousness. In other words, is not she - is the teacher! Or, more precisely, the lessons. If meditation is not working for you, take heart. There are seven other areas where attention training can inform, inspire and delight. That is what counts. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Maya Talisman Frost is a mind masseuse in Portland, Oregon.
